  Full Story of HK Trip...

Day One (Sunday 30 October 2005)
Reach Hong Kong Airport then we went to bought our AEL Ticket (Express Train Ride) to City. Actually quite expensive wor, we bought at HK$180 (think so, can't actually rem) and it consists of 2 Trips (To and Fro) AEL Rides + 3 Days Unlimited Rides on MTR, Valued HK$20 for rides on other transportations (eg, Buses, Ferry) and a refundable deposit of HK$50. Surprisingly we managed to use the Unlimited Rides on MTR for all 5 Days, haha, so in the end managed to gain a little. I still have the card with me, did not return it for the deposit anyway, and wanted to keep it as a souvenir.

Reach Hotel and what was shocking, the room was SUPER SMALL lor, imagine 5 person in a room which is like comfortable for 3 person. So we squeeze for the 4 nights lor, xiong was the worse and most wei da le… he slept on the floor for all 4 nights, hehe, we gave him 2 thick blankets (wool kind) cos air con is blowing directly at his face… kelian hor…

The 4 of us, share the 2 single beds lor… The 4 nights there, I was being "bullied" by Adrian… imagine unable to move and change side most of the times during the night and still got symphony (snores) to "enjoy"!! Wahahaha… Adrian still snatch the blanket from me, lucky I was clever; wore jacket to sleep and this time around I was wearing long pants, so only have to keep my toes under cover and I won’t feel cold le… never mind this is an experience gain, next time I will know to sleep somewhere else le… haha…

After some slight unpacking, we ventured out to this place called "Avenue of Stars", it’s along the Victoria Harbour at Tsim Sha Tsui side, the walkway have handprints of famous Hong Kong Artistes. So took some afternoon photos of the harbour view. After awhile, we walked to the Clock Tower, which is at the end of Avenue of Stars, but it’s surrounding is under construction, so didn’t really take much photos at this place.

Then we walked to Canton Road, finding my favourite shop which is available around the world, HARD ROCK CAFÉ merchandise shop… hiak hiak… been buying at all places that I have visited and have HRC… good thing is I always managed to fit in their kids large size, so will managed to save a bit of money… eg. the yellow logo white T-shirt for adult size cost HK$140 but for kids size cost HK$100, so I’ll save some money… just bought 1 T-shirt there, got to use my money wisely first, the shop is quite near our Hotel, so if I want still can go at night to buy more. Now HRC even have another store at The Peak… hmmm, okie, I admit, I bought another T-shirt over there, but it was 2 days later before we actually went to The Peak.

At night, we went to the Famous Night Markets… Temple Street and Ladies Market…actually nothing much to buy over there now, basically the same and pricing is ok… their selling price is like around 200%, so next time go there, please bargain… for eg. zj saw this skirt quite nice and the shop gave a price HK139, and only gave discount price of HK$120… then she’s such a sweet talker lor, say wear will very nice, can’t find pretty gals clothes inside etc… but in the end, zj and I feel that this skirt is too thick (suede-like material) and it will be warm if she wear it in Singapore. So she didn’t buy… we walked abit more inner and saw the same skirt and I asked zj to ask the price, just to see how honest the previous seller is. The 2nd seller quoted HK$75, wow, this is before bargaining wor… luckily never buy in front…haha, wanted to buy something for Dorothy at the market, but the lady don’t want to accept our price so forget it… I bought a coin purse (quite big) for myself at a shop near the market… it has a monkey character…cute

As it was 30th Oct during our first night there, we saw a lot of people dressed up for Halloween… We went to their "MS" Lan Kwai Fong for a walk and got a shocked when we saw the crowd… the Lan Kwai Fong streets are closed and people are all around… a lot of people are dressed up and I even took a photo with a Doraemon "Ghost"… cute hor… there was this incident, that I saw a female "Ghost" dressed in Red Cheongsam and asked zj to see (the ghost was just beside us) and she practically float past us… haha, scary… Maybe next year can go to Singapore MS to see whether if we have this kind of fun…

Then after this we walked around the area there, Li Yuen Street (Central Market) before going back to our Hotel…

Day Two (Monday 31 October 2005)
I was the first to wake up, (well for 5 days, I wake up first, if it’s with my sister, I’ll be number 2 then went for a bath first… 5 of us took more than 1 hour before we can leave the hotel room, real tu hor…

Breakfast at a small Café, and the food ok lah, did not expect to eat Maggie Noodles though, we order their set breakfast and so disappointing to see it’s Maggie Noodles… zj ate the Wanton noodles is normal egg noodles lor… lucky I like their tea so still managed to salvage the breakfast…

Went to Lantau Island to see the Big Buddha…

it’s a peaceful and beautiful place… some construction is going on there, there will be a Cable Car Station (MTR) nearby there… we spend the whole afternoon there… wanted to go to Disneyland but left with 3 hours before closing time, so we decided to change plan… instead we went to Stanley (Repulse Bay Area) nice place with Sea view… there is a Market there also bought a pair of board shorts for my brother, but they closed early so we only managed to walk to around 7pm + then ventured to our next location Aberdeen to search for the Jumbo Floating Restaurant… the food is way off our Budget and we are there to take pictures only… haha, we lost our way but lucky on the bus, got this passenger help us out, told us the directions then we just walked on our own… finally saw this place but I was the side view, so I don’t know how xiong did it, but he just walked and we got ourselves in front of the Restaurant… haha… *claps *claps*

After the photo taking, we went to Causeway Bay for food, and we ate MacDonalds, too hungry to think of what to eat le… saw Mac then decided our dinner will be HK MacDonalds… haha… did not shop much there, walked on the streets only, then saw a Market near the Times Square Shopping Centre, walked inside for awhile, most of them are also closed. Then we went to Giordano, they have a Halloween show inside, actually just people dressed up and go on stage to show and pretend as ghost… quite noisy lah, use mic inside store, quite deafening… saw this Jacket that I like but selling quite expensive HK$250, there is a 30% discount but it’s still expensive lor, HK$175… there are still a lot of people dressed up on the streets… Interesting lor, if in Singapore, think get weird stares le…

Went to a store that sell a lot of Disney characters… I bought chopsticks (Pluto and Piglet), a multi-holder (character don’t know is duck or penguin…)

After which, we went back to hotel and put down our things then supper here we come… I din eat anything lah, still full from the late dinner, so just see the other 3 eat lor… haha

Day Three (Tuesday 01 November 2005)
Today is Disneyland Day… haha, quite excited on the way there… but during the 30mins train ride there abit sian liao, cos so tiring… haha… we reach this Tung Chung Station then will have to change to Disney line, the train is cute lor, Mickey Mouse shape window, even the handle inside the train is also Mickey Mouse shape…

Finally reach Disneyland, but saw the crowd abit scary le, a lot of PRCs are there also… sianED… then queue up for the entrance tickets, expensive lor, our Ticket type is regular is already HK$295, imagine weekends / public holiday it cost HK$350…

Actually, quite disappointing with Disney Hong Kong, so small… I read that it’s only ¼ the size of our Sentosa, then the games and shows quite little… haha, we really went back to our younger days, imagine that we actually queue up to take pictures with Winnie The Pooh and Tigger, Donald Duck, the Dragon from Mulan, and by luck took picture with the cute cat, I think her name is Marie… hehe…Too bad din take with Pluto and Goofy, I like Pluto, adorable dog… but why he’s on two legs… haha, just joking… :p … then Mickey and Minnie’s queue are too long… so never take with them…

Oh ya, bought quite a lot of things in Disneyland, I bought for myself 1 Pluto White Tshirt, 1 Black Hong Kong Disneyland T-shirt, 1 Chip and Dale Tin of Strawberry Rolls, some cartoon figurines, stuff toy, badges and 1 Red Hong Kong Disneyland T-shirt for my sister… think I spend around HK$550 le… Hong Kong Disneyland is the Chopping Board where we tourists are the Carrots… hehe…

After that at night at 7pm, there is some Fireworks show at this Sleeping Beauty Castle…

it’s awesome… totally immersed in the show, so beautiful, imagine they have the show every day at 7pm and it’s more beautiful than what we see at our National Day… Part of our entrance fee goes there… haha…

We left after the fireworks end, went to Li Yuen Street again, to see if the shop selling the Egg Tarts / Wife Biscuits are opened, but too bad they are closed, so we decided to eat at the area there… we had our dinner at the Roadside store, condition quite filthy lah, because they are at the alleys and you could see cockroaches and the bowls, chopsticks never wash thoroughly, so still got to wipe them first… but the food is good… tasty… lucky nobody had any stomach ache after the dinner…

After which, we went up to this Mid-Soho escalator (longest escalator lor) and the place is somehow like our Holland V where there are pubs and food outlets… further up are residential developments where I think it’s more expensive lah, because it is called Ban Shan (literally translate as Half Hill) haha… that’s why it’s called Mid Soho…

The roads there are very steep lor, imagine you walked up instead of the escalator… definitely a very good way to exercise… that is also one reason why HK people are often slim… haha…
After some slight exploring, walked back down but the escalator only operation downhill during morning peak hours, so have to walked steps le… haha…

Back to our Hotel area, so this time we went back to the Avenue of Stars for some night shots… it’s quite beautiful sight, with the building lights being so attractive, our Singapore CBD night view can’t compare lor… haha… there is this underpass near the New World Shopping, so windy at night lor, the ventilation is perfect… haha… then went to find some snacks (xiao chi)… we walked to the place where I last stay in HK during 2002, near Regal Kowloon Hotel… the fountain is under renovation wor, it wrote there that It’ll be ready before Christmas but I forgot whether is 2005 or 2006… haha…

Day Four (Wednesday 02 November 2005)
Today, we left HK… Well, officially on our Passport we left HK, because we went to Macau… weather there is warmer than HK… visited various tourist spots there… St Domino Street and the Church there… St Paulo’s’ Ruins (not sure correct name anot, but it's the famous wall)
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
haha… we even went the wrong way and came to a Garden where they have Monkey God Temple… haha… Macau is just like HK, climb a lot of steps… oh ya, Macau has a lot of Motorcycles…

I finally ate the famous Pork Chop burger at Macau.. I even had 2… the others ate rice but I wanted to try the Burger, scare not full enough so order 2… hehe… Delicious.. wonder if I can find it in Singapore… went to this shop that I have bought local goodies in 2002… things are still the same and the pungent smell is still there…and I LOVE it… haha…

After which we gotto rush back to the Ferry Terminal… Officially we depart from Macau and arrived at HK… haha, the ferry ride is about 45mins… tried to sleep on board, but beside me there is a person (think he is Filipino) is talking on his handphone and disturb my sleep… haha… should have change place with xiong, then I might sleep better… hehe…

Reach back HK, went to The Peak… carrying our goodies and I was carrying the Heavy haversack, but no choice lah, first 2 days Kelvin brought bag, then Disneyland was Adrian, so must be fair, today I volunteer… haha…

Took the Tram ride up and saw nice view on the way up le, thought reach Peak can get some nice photographs, but disappointed to see the Viewing Gallery is under renovation… we first went for some shopping… hehe, year, I bought HRC tee here again… the yellow logo white tee with The Peak word and HRC coin purse.. hehe, then bought the grey logo black tee for my brother, because the things he ask me to buy I can’t find… haha, so get him this lor… actually he wanted Polo Tee but too expensive le, so just normal tee… but still cost HK140 lor…

Ate Macdonalds again… before that I finally found something for Dorothy… hehe… so quickly buy… was searching for silver chopsticks as requested by my sister but can’t find… how come Beijing can find but HK can’t… haha…

After eating, we went for a hike… haha… because there is this nature trail walk that can see the HK night skyline so we walked for around 15 – 20 minutes before capturing the scene that we wanted…
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
After which, we have to walked back to tram station fast, because the last train is 12mn and the time then was already 1130… haha… managed to reach there for the 2nd last train though…

After that think we went for supper again… this time is the Xu Liu Xian (Dessert Shop), they have an outlet in Singapore at International Building (i.e Orchard Road, beside Lido)… I did not order any dessert because I know I can eat off others bowls, got 4 types of desserts wor, so I eat abit here and there enough le, I also don’t really like to eat desserts… haha…
After that back to hotel for our beauty sleep le…

Day Five (Thursday 03 November 2005)

Today our waking up time is later le, because we will just be walking around our hotel area… woke up at 10am, went for my final bath then start to pack my things… by the time we are all done and ready to go, it’s already our checking out time 12nn, but we are still tu-ing abit, so the reception even call me up in the room to see if I’m checking out already… haha… well, I told them give me another 15mins and I’ll be down, they ask me to "Take your time, Ms. Lee"… haha…

After checking out, we placed our luggage at the hotel counter, then went to walk around the area… Was walking along the streets, then finally got chance to stop at this shop selling accessories, then bought a belt for myself and kt, didn’t know what to buy for kt, so saw this blue belt with an embossed letter "T" I quickly grabbed it..

Then we continue to walk around the area, and came to this HK Jockey Club… Adrian and xiong went to buy their Liu He Cai (HK Version of TOTO) haha... they are dreaming of winning the HK 10 million… Then I discover a shop next door, went inside walk around and I bought my last tee over there… it’s a real AX top k… but I think is rejected clothes lah… something like what factory outlet would sell… hehe…

Then we went to buy Wife Biscuit at a shop nearby, I saw some Panda Shape biscuits, could not resist the cute-ness so I bought 1 one packet back home… also bought Tie Guan Yin and Long Jing Tea leaves… The others all buy Wife Biscuits, I did not buy because my family don’t really like it…

Hehe, usually our first meal in our every travel aboard would be Ice-cream but this time, we didn’t… and our last meal at HK (excluding Airport) was Haagen Daz… It took the shop 20mins to prepare the ice-cream we wanted… it’s called Golden Pyramid, it was delicious… wonder if Singapore has any Restaurant??

After that, it’s time to leave for Airport… check in then realised not much time left to walk around there, so quickly grabbed some food, Popeye Theme Fast food, now at Changi Airport also have le… Ate some fried chicken then quickly rushed to board the plane le…

After 3 hours + finally touch down back in Singapore, I miss my comfortable bed… haha… this time due to budget only bought Beer for my dad… spent $12 only… haha.. then Genming (gotto know him through Kelvin) came to fetch us wor… Save on Taxi fare le… so good hor!! Then as usual I’m the first to reach home, haha… Everyone was asleep when I came back, so I washed up then off to my comfort zone le…

That’s the end of my 5 days 4 nights Hong Kong Trip… … …

About Myself

MY FAMILY

I'm the type who sits inconspicuously in the back of the room at any gathering seldom approaching someone first. Luckily I'm loyal to my friends and share the pain with them when they are experiencing the blues and lastly I don't like to engage in arguments. That's one thing that would make me really upset..

Collecting HRC (Hard Rock Cafe) Tees from different countries, so far I have those S'pore, KL, Bangkok, HK, Beijing, Tokyo Ueno, Rome, Paris, London, Barcelona. Friends bought for me from Los Angeles, Nagoya and Sydney.

I would love to travel round the world if $$ is not a problem.. hehe.. So far only been to parts of Malaysia like Malacca (1999, 2010), Genting (1999, 2002, 2006, 2009), JB (1996, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009), Kuala Lumpur (1999, 2004, 2006, 2010)... South Korea (1999), Hong Kong (2002, 2005, 2007, 2008), Macau (2002, 2005), Bangkok (2003, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2011) Beijing (2004), Taipei (2007) Taiwan (2010), Tokyo (2008), Rome (2008), Naples (2008), Paris (2008, 2009), London (2008, 2009), Barcelona (2009), Hainan (2011)...

Recently I have gotten addicted to Soccer again. It has been a long time since I watched, must have been the Interesting Fifa World Cup 2006 Matches...
