"Contentment is not the fulfillment of what you want, it is the realization of how much you already have.!! How true. I also believe that we must make the most of everything that we have rather than fretting what we don't or can't have!
CONTENTMENT
Have you ever, at any one time, had the feeling that life is bad, real bad,and you wish you were in another situation? You find life make things difficult for you, work sucks, life sucks, everything seems to go wrong...
Read the following story... it may change your views about life:
After a conversation with one of my friends, he told me despite taking 2 jobs, he brings back barely above 1K per month, he is happy as he is.
I wonder how he can be as happy as he is considering he has to skimp his life with the low pay to support a pair of old parents, in-laws, a wife, 2 daughters and the many bills of a household. He explained that it was through one incident that he saw in India.........that happened a few years ago when he was really feeling low and touring India after a major setback.
He said that right in front of his very eyes he saw an Indian mother chop off her child's right hand with a chopper. The helplessness in the mother's eyes, the scream of pain from the innocent 4-year-old child haunted him until today. You may ask why did the mother do so; had the child been naughty, had the child's hand been infected??
No, it was done for two simple words- - - TO BEG! The desperate mother deliberately caused the child to be handicapped so that the child could go out to the streets to beg. Taken aback by the scene, he dropped a piece of bread he was eating half-way. And almost instantly, a flock of 5 or 6 children swamped with sand, robbing bits from one another.
The natural reaction of hunger. Stricken by the happenings, he instructed his guide to drive him to the nearest bakery. He arrived at two bakeries and bought every single loaf of bread he found. He spent less than $100 to obtain about 400 loaves of bread (this is less than $0.25 per loaf) and spent another $100 to get daily necessities. Off he went in the truck full of bread into the streets. As he distributed the bread and necessities to the children (mostly handicapped) and a few adults, he received cheers and bows from these unfortunate.
For the first time in his life he wondered how people can give up their dignity for a loaf of bread which cost less than $0.25. He began to tell himself how fortunate he is. How fortunate he is to be able to have a complete body, have a job, have a nice family, have the chance to be clothed, have the many things that these people in front of him are deprived of...
Now I begin to think and feel it, too! Was my life really that bad? Perhaps... no, I should not feel bad at all... What about you? Maybe the next time you think you are, think about the child who lost one hand to beg on the streets.
"Contentment is not the fulfillment of what you want, it is the realization of how much you already have." When the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us.
It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives. The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past, you go on well in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
I went to take a look, not bad, nice furnishing.. looks nice.. hmmm, can considered going there next time, it's near Little India, somemore middle of the night still can go Mustafa shopping.. haha.. :P

The Apple Tree
A long time ago, there was a huge Apple Tree.
A little boy loved to come and play around it everyday. He climbed to the tree top, ate the apples, took a nap under the shadow... He loved the tree and the tree loved to play with him. Time went by... the little boy had grown up and he no longer played around the tree everyday.
One day, the boy came back to the tree and he looked sad. "Come and play with me," the tree asked the boy. "I am no longer a kid, I don't play around trees anymore." The boy replied, "I want toys. I need money to buy them. Sorry, but I don't have money... but you can pick all my apples and sell them. So, you will have money." The boy was so excited. He grabbed all the apples on the tree and left happily. The boy never came back after he picked the apples. The tree was sad.
One day, the boy returned and the tree was so excited. "Come and play with me" the tree said. "I don't have time to play. I have to work for my family. We need a house for shelter. Can you help me?" "Sorry, but I don't have a house. But you can chop off my branches to build your house." So the boy cut all the branches of the tree and left happily. The tree was glad to see him happy but the boy never came back since then. The tree was again lonely and sad.
One hot summer day, the boy returned and the tree was delighted. "Come and play with me!" the tree said."I am sad and getting old. I want to go sailing to relax myself. Can you give me a boat?" "Use my trunk to build your boat. You can sail far away and be happy." So the boy cut the tree truck to make a boat. He went sailing and never showed up for a long time.
Finally, the boy returned after he left for so many years. "Sorry, my boy. But I don't have anything for you anymore. No more apples for you..." the tree said. "I don't have teeth to bite" the boy replied. "No more trunk for you to climb on" "I am too old for that now" the boy said. "I really can't give you anything ... the only thing left is my dying roots" the tree said with tears. "I don't need much now, just a place to rest. I am tired after all these years." The boy replied. "Good! Old tree roots is the best place to lean on and rest. Come, Come sit down with me and rest." The boy sat down and the tree was glad and smiled with tears.......
This is a story of everyone.
The tree is our parents.
When we were young, we loved to play with Mom and Dad...
When we grow up, we leave them... only come to them when we need something or when we are in trouble. No matter what, parents will always be there and give everything they could to make you happy.
You may think the boy is cruel to the tree but that's how all of us are treating our parents..
Think you all might have read this before, but i just wanna continue to pass this short story to remind others, don't forget to love your parents, without them you won't be able to come into this world.. (^^,)v

Thoughts...
Got a ride home from my boss ystday.. We were chit chatting in the car.. Then he suddenly ask me have u got a bf?? Not young liao, quickly find one good one then can plan to settle down.. He still say the guys all sleeping ah? haha, felt so happy, got ppl praise me charming.. (^^,).. Till he put my sis into the same league..
Guess, he doesn't know the real reason.. I'm thinking most ppl won't know why.. Actually, I think I'm scared of getting into a relationship... Commitments is really scary... I'll feel pressurized if some1 keep asking me out... With friends, if I dun feel like going I can dun go, but I guess I'm really some1 who runs deeps, (I mean literally) One can't guess what I'm thinking... Even I can't figure out myself sometimes, haha...
I thought it was because of my feelings for him that I can't accept another, but that's not the only reason I guess... It's the feeling where some1 wants to know you better, they would want to know everything about the other party and this the part where I really feel uncomfortable... BUT isn't this interpersonal communication, I guess I really lack this skill... haha...
I'm the type who sits inconspicuously in the back of the room at any gathering seldom approaching someone first. Luckily I'm loyal to my friends and share the pain with them when they are experiencing the blues and lastly I don't like to engage in arguments. That's one thing that would make me really upset..
